Industrial Gutter

Industrial gutters are essential components for managing water drainage in various large-scale applications. Designed to withstand high volumes of rainwater, these gutters ensure efficient water flow while protecting buildings from potential damage caused by excess moisture. In our Industrial Guttering system, we offer a wide range of products, from FloPlast's Xtraflo 170mm Half Round Gutter to the 150mm Half Round Gutter, and the 135mm Square Gutter from reputable European manufacturer Galeco. Each of these options is tailored to meet specific needs while providing robust performance in demanding environments. We also carry a 170mm (150mm internal) Galvanised Steel option.

FEATURES & BENEFITS OF INDUSTRIAL GUTTERING

FloPlast Xtraflo 170mm Guttering

The FloPlast XtraFlo 170mm guttering system is designed with a wide profile that significantly enhances flow capacity, making it ideal for buildings with large roof areas. Compared to standard 150mm systems, these gutters offer a much higher capacity and flow rate, capable of handling up to 11.8 liters per second. In fact, the XtraFlo system can hold approximately five times more water than our standard half-round gutters and over twice as much as our standard deep flow gutters. This makes them an excellent choice for industrial, agricultural, and commercial buildings.

Constructed from durable PVC, the XtraFlo gutters ensure long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance, requiring only occasional cleaning with soapy water. Installation is straightforward thanks to the system's wide rubber seals, semi-elliptical profile, and compatibility with 110mm downpipes.

The versatility of the XtraFlo system allows it to be used in various applications, including barns, warehouses, and office complexes. It is also backed by a BSI Kitemark (KM501316), ensuring quality and reliability.

To support the weight of water that fully loaded XtraFlo gutters can carry, fascia brackets should be spaced 600mm apart. You will need approximately seven brackets for every length of gutter purchased. Additionally, any stop ends should be supported by a fascia bracket positioned within 150mm of the fitting.

Our half-round industrial guttering system uses 110mm downpipes compatible with all BS Approved Drainage Systems. Offsets (swan-necks) can be created using the SP440 and SP435 top and bottom bends, and the downpipes should be secured with clips spaced no more than 1.8m apart.

Galeco 150mm Guttering

As the most popular commercial guttering system, the 150mm (6 inch) gutters offer a balanced capacity and size, making them ideal for managing water flow on medium to large roof areas commonly found in industrial, commercial, and agricultural buildings. Their half round shape allows for easier installation with fewer joints, enhancing flexibility. Designed with a large capacity, these gutters boast high mechanical strength, ensuring durability against heavy loads. They are resistant to fire, corrosion, and a majority of aggressive substances that may be soluble in rainwater, providing chemical resistance, as well as biological resistance to bacteria.

Made from a specially formulated plastic that includes suitable additives, these gutters are UV resistant and maintain their required colour and gloss over time. Additionally, they are cost-effective, providing a reliable drainage solution at a lower price compared to larger systems. Their compatibility with standard 100mm downpipe simplifies integration with existing drainage systems, and their versatility makes them suitable for various building types, from commercial spaces to barns and warehouses.

Galeco 135mm Square Guttering

Galeco's 135mm square gutter is perfect for steeply pitched roofs. It also features an insert on each fitting which adds additional pressure to compress the gutter onto the seal. This ensures that full contact is made all the way around the seal section.

Galeco's square gutter system fills a gap in the market, up until now deep gutters have been either half round or semi-elliptical in design. The 135mm square gutter effectively manages water flow while maintaining a sleek appearance, suitable for modern and traditional building designs.

APPLICATIONS OF INDUSTRIAL GUTTERS

Industrial gutters are versatile rainwater solutions suitable for a variety of environments and building types. Their robust design and high capacity make them ideal for managing water flow in numerous applications, including:

  • Commercial Buildings: Large commercial facilities, such as warehouses, shopping centers, and manufacturing plants, often have expansive roof areas that require efficient water management. The 150mm gutter and 170mm guttering systems provide reliable drainage, preventing water accumulation that can lead to structural damage or flooding. By directing rainwater away from the building's foundation, these gutters help protect the integrity of commercial properties.

  • Agricultural Structures: Farms and agricultural buildings, including barns and livestock facilities, benefit significantly from industrial gutters. The high capacity of the 170mm and 150mm plastic guttering systems ensures that large volumes of rainwater are effectively drained away, safeguarding crops and livestock from excess moisture. This is particularly important in regions prone to heavy rainfall, where proper drainage can prevent soil erosion and waterlogging.

  • Industrial Facilities: Factories and industrial plants require durable guttering systems capable of handling significant water runoff. The 135mm square gutter is particularly useful in facilities with steeply pitched roofs, as it efficiently directs water flow while maintaining a sleek appearance. These gutters protect valuable machinery and equipment from water damage, reducing maintenance costs and operational downtime.

  • Residential Developments: While primarily designed for industrial use, these gutters can also be utilized in larger residential projects, such as apartment complexes or high-end homes with expansive roofs. The 170mm and 150mm systems offer excellent drainage capacity, ensuring that water is efficiently channelled away from the building, enhancing the longevity of roofing materials and foundations.

  • Institutional Buildings: Educational institutions, hospitals, and government buildings often have large roof areas that require effective drainage solutions. The industrial guttering systems provide the necessary capacity to manage stormwater, helping to maintain safe and functional environments for occupants.

  • Public Infrastructure: Industrial gutters are also suitable for use in public infrastructure projects, such as transit stations and parking garages, where effective water management is critical. Their ability to handle high volumes of rainwater makes them ideal for keeping these spaces safe and operational, preventing water accumulation that can lead to hazardous conditions.
