Offset bends are commonly used to form what is known as a swan neck. This is the term given for two offset bends used together with a small piece of pipe in between that allows the downpipe to drop from the fascia and return to the wall below the soffit.

Never use sealant or solvent weld when making a swan neck as you may need to disassemble the fitting for cleaning at some point.
